Beach Boys Surfin' U.S.A. RIAA Gold Record Award (Capitol ST-1890, 1963)

This was the group's second album; it hit number two on the album charts while the single of the same title topped out at number three. According to the plaque beneath the gold disc, this award was "Presented to Capitol Records to Commemorate the Sale of More Than 500,000 Copies of the Capitol Records Long-Playing Record Album Surfin' U.S.A." The classic album from the Beach Boys was released in 1963, while this award likely dates to the mid-1970s and features the orange Capitol label from that period. Framed to an overall 17" x 21" and in Excellent condition.
